§ Mr. EnnalsInformation on permanent emigrants is not directly available as it is not known how many doctors leaving the country do so with the intention of returning subsequently. During the year ending 30th September 1975, 1,040 doctors born in the United Kingdom or Irish Republic left Great Britain,374W while 570 such doctors returned. These figures are subject to amendment as more information becomes available. Provisional figures for 1975–76 and 1976–77 indicate an annual outflow slightly below the 1974–75 level; the net outflow appears to be falling.
