§ Mr. Robert C. BrownThe Shaugh Moor and Hawks Tor areas are used from January onwards by competitors training for the Ten Tors expedition. During the event itself a checkpoint and bivouac area were established adjacent to Hawks Tor. The checkpoint consisted of two vehicles, a tent and latrines equipped with chemical toilets.
