Mr. Michael Marshallasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection, in view of widespread consumer anxiety, what consideration he has given to the call by the Electricity Consumers' Council for a Price Commission inquiry into electricity pricing, which rose by 150 per cent. between January 1974 and March 1978.
§ Mr. MaclennanMy right hon. Friend is attracted by the suggestion made by the Electricity Consumer Council. Electricity pricing will not be included in the list of sectoral examinations which will be announced tomorrow but will be considered for reference later this year.
