§ Mr. Stephen Rossasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many councils in England and Wales have so far made claims on the fund established to compensate them for damage due to floods and storms during the winter.
§ Mr. ShoreMy Department wrote to some 140 authorities telling them of the arrangements for submitting claims for special financial assistance in respect of the additional expenditure they were known to have incurred as a result of floods and storms last winter. Many authorities expressed an initial interest and so far two of them have been able to work up detailed claims.
