§ Mr. Merlyn ReesIn 1976–77, the last financial year for which full details are available, the average weekly cost of keeping a male inmate in prison, borstal and a detention centre was £82, £94 and £96 respectively. It is estimated that, for 1977–78, these figures will be about £91, £104 and £107.
