Mr. Jim Callaghanasked the Secretary of State for Industry what representations he has made to the Commission of the EEC to increase the level of assistance to the North-West Region of the United Kingdom from the EEC Regional Fund.
§ Mr. CryerThe European Regional Development Fund Regulation allocates a specific quota to each member state, but the administration of the Fund within the United Kingdom is a matter for Her Majesty's Government. I would expect the North-West Region to benefit from the large increase in the Fund for 1978 compared to earlier years.
