Mr. Newens

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many units of accommodation for Service men and their families, still owned by his Department at North Weald, Essex, have been offered for sale to Epping Forest district council when the offer was first made; and what progress has been made to date towards an agreement on a sale.

169 houses still owned by the Ministry of Defence have been offered for sale to the Epping Forest district council. Details are as follows:

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many units of accommodation for Service men and their families, owned by his Department at North Weald, Essex, have not been occupied for periods of up to six months, between six months and a year, between one and two years and over two years, respectively.

At present the Ministry of Defence has five vacant married quarters at North Weald. Four have been vacant for periods of up to six months whilst one has been vacant for a period between six months and a year.

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many units of accommodation for Service men and their families at North Weald, Essex, axe still owned by his Department; and how many of these are at present occupied.

The Ministry of Defence has 14 married quarters at North Weald. At present nine of them are occupied.
