asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science at what time and on what day she left London, and returned there; at what time she arrived in and departed from China; and how many hours she spent (a) on her journey to and from and (b) in China.

My right hon. Friend left London at 14.30 hours BST on 20th July and arrived back at 13.15 hours on 25th July. She arrived in China at 11.00 hours local time on 22nd July and departed at 20.40 hours on 24th July. Travelling time, including a 24-hour 25-min. stopover in Teheran on the outward journey, was 61 hours 5 minutes. Time spent in China was 57 hours 40 minutes.
