§ Mr. William RodgersMost expenditure on new railway lines in the years in question has been on urban rapid transit schemes, namely: the Mersey loop and link; Clyderail; the Tyne and Wear metro; the Jubilee line; and the Heathrow extension to the Piccadilly line.
