HC Deb 31 July 1978 vol 955 cc119-20W
Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what consideration his Department has given to the possibility of printing form FP95 for the prepayment of prescription charges on the reverse side of a National Giro inpayment/transfer form or, alternatively, of including in form FP95 a statement that one of the permitted methods of payment to accompany the application form may be a transfer form to credit a National Giro account held by his Department or the National Health Service as appropriate.

Mr. Moyle

These proposals would be impracticable for a number of reasons, one being that the family practitioner committees which administer the prescription charge pre-payment certificate arrangements do not hold National Giro accounts.
