HC Deb 31 July 1978 vol 955 cc171-2W
Mr. George

asked the Secretary of State for Transport, if he is satisfied with the safety provision appertaining to vehicles carrying hazardous chemicals or other dangerous substances emanating from abroad.

Mr. William Rodgers

I refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave to the hon. Member for Harrow, Central (Mr. Grant) on 17th July—[Vol. 954, c.113–14.]

Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to receive the report of the inquiry into road haulage standards for the conveyance of dangerous substances.

Mr. William Rodgers

I assume that my hon. Friend is referring to the report I have asked the chairman of the Health and Safety Commission to let me have on the lessons to be learnt from the Spanish tanker explosion. I hope to receive this shortly.
