asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the normal daily population of prisoners in Her Majesty's prison at Brixton compared with the present number of prisoners held in this prison.

On 30th June 1978 the prison population of Her Majesty's prison Brixton was 1,054. The average daily population in 1977 was 1,025.
