HC Deb 27 July 1978 vol 954 c885W
Rev. Ian Paisley

asked the Secretary of State for Defence why, when the Ulster Defence Regiment patrol which had been ambushed outside Scribbagh P.O., Co. Fermanagh on 25th June called for Army assistance because one of their number, Private Alan Ferguson, had been shot dead and another private injured, assistance was not forthcoming for over one hour.

Mr. Robert C. Brown

There was no such delay. The first Army reinforcements arrived at the scene of the ambush within 20 minutes
