§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will give for the longest and most convenient period of time the total number of persons deported by order of the courts for any reason; and in how many of these cases the orders or wishes of the court were not implemented.
§ Mr. JohnThe number of deportation orders enforced as a result of court recommendations made under section 3(6) of the Immigration Act 1971 is as follows: 1976, 419; 1977, 560. I regret that figures for earlier years are not readily available.
