HC Deb 26 July 1978 vol 954 c792W
Sir Bernard Braine

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will make a statement about the negotiations with the United States Government concerning the proposed United Kingdom/USA double taxation agreement.

Mr. Denzil Davies,

pursuant to the reply [Official Report, 25th July 1978], gave the following information:

There have been discussions between officials of the Inland Revenue and the United States Treasury to consider the implications of the recent decision of the United States Senate to approve the proposed new double taxation convention subject to a reservation on Article 9(4). There has been a useful exchange of views but certain aspects require further exploration and the discussions will be resumed.
