§ Mr. Alfred MorrisAs 31st March 1978, there were 308,482 people in receipt of attendance allowance—155,209 at the higher rate and 153,273 at the lower rate. In addition, there were 6,381 people receiving constant attendance allowance under the war pensions scheme and approximately 2,600 people receiving constant attendance allowance under the industrial injuries scheme.
