HC Deb 26 July 1978 vol 954 c734W
14. Mr. Hal Miller

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what COCOM restrictions remain on the sale of computers to the People's Republic of China.

Mr. Judd

The sale of computers to certain countries, including China, continues to be subject to multilateral strategic control.

The restrictions imposed by member countries relate to performance and capacity levels, to technology and to the end use to which the computers will be put.
