§ Mr. Barry JonesAs my hon. Friend said in his reply to the hon. Member on 11th July, responsibility for the provision 695W of recreational facilities rests with the local authorities—[Vol. 953, c. 542–43]. In accordance with Government policy, the Sports Council for Wales gives priority to applications for grant aid from areas in which recreational deprivation is associated with other forms of social and environmental deprivation.
