Friend that officials in the Treasury and the Bank of England keep constantly under review the possibility of changes to improve the functioning of financial markets and facilitate the economical funding of Government borrowing. Indeed, a number of changes have been introduced over the last 18 months; and any further modifications of technique will be introduced as seems appropriate.
