asked the Secretary of State for Employment (1) how many people were employed by the clothing industry in 1972; and what is the current figure to the latest convenient date;

(2) how many people were employed by the knitting industry in 1972; and what is the figure to the latest convenient date;

(3) how many people were employed by the United Kingdom textile industry in 1972; and what is the current figure to the latest convenient date.
