§ Mr. Stanbrookasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will specify the principal items on which his estimated figure of £900,000 savings in annual running costs involved in the transfer of the Royal Air Force officers and aircrew selection centre from Biggin Hill is based, stating to what extent the cost of maintenance of the buildings and residential quarters is taken into account.
Mr. WelbelovedThe principal items in the estimated £900,000 savings in annual running costs are as follows:
- (a) The estimated savings in support personnel costs as a result of collocating OASC with other units at RAF Bentley Priory, and
214 - (b) The estimated annual savings in the cost of utilities such as water, heating and electricity and in the maintenance costs of the technical, domestic and residential buildings.
