§ Mr. Harold WalkerThe company has followed the procedure set out in section 100 of the Employment Protection Act 1975. On 5th June 1978 my Department was notified of the proposal to dismiss as redundant 180 people on 1st September 1978. The company is aware of the provisions of the temporary employment subsidy scheme, which is designed to avoid redundancies, but has not applied for subsidies.
