§ Mr. Eyreasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if, in view of the continuing delays in issuing passports from the Peterborough office, he will, as a matter of urgency, increase the number of staff dealing with applications and renewals, and allocate more staff to telephone answering duty.
§ Mr. LuardThe Peterborough passport office has this week been authorised 841W to recruit immediately a further 25 staff which should help to alleviate the difficulties arising from the exceptional increase in demand for passports.
