HC Deb 13 July 1978 vol 953 c694W
Mr. Heffer

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is his response to the representations made by the hon. Member for Liverpool, Walton, in the case of Mr. I. Whiteley and his wife, South African citizens, and his children, who are Stateless, so that they can be allowed to stay in the United Kingdom, in the light of the fact that Mr. Whiteley has obtained employment and accommodation, and would be subject to apartheid laws if he and his wife went back to South Africa.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

My hon. Friend the Minister of State has received my hon. Friend's recent letter and hopes to reply to him shortly when he has considered his and other representations.
