§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Lord President of the Council whether he will give for the latest most convenient date the number of staff in his Department and their salary scales; how many of these are not entitled to a pension; and whether those who will be entitled to a pension have contributed 5 per cent. or 6 per cent. towards it.

Forty, of whom 38 are on Civil Service scales ranging between £2,349–£2,466 and £10,462–£12,273. The other two posts are at fixed salaries of £12,208 and £7,429 respectively. These figures are exclusive of inner London weighting.
All the posts are pensionable, and the salaries reflect the deductions for pension
