Mr. Roper

asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether he will publish, for the latest available year, the aggregate profits, after depreciation but before interest, grants under the Coal Industry Acts and deficiency contributions to pension schemes, of those National Coal Board pits which made a profit.

This is a matter for the National Coal Board, and I am asking the chairman to write to my hon. Friend.
