HC Deb 13 July 1978 vol 953 c707W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether the chairman of Cable and Wireless Limited is entitled to claim, in addition to his chairman's salary for this part-time employment, his former ministerial pension and his House of Commons Members' pension; and what these amounts total for this employment and the number of hours spent on the job.

Mr. Les Huckfield

Pensions under the parliamentary pensions scheme are not my responsibility but I understand that the Parliamentary Pensions Acts do not require abatement of pensions on appointment to a public board.

The current annual salary for this 3½-day-per-week appointment is £10,150.
