These figures relate to the provision of sight tests and spectacles by opticians under general ophthalmic services arrangements. They exclude payments to ophthalmic medical practitioners, include income from charges paid by patients, and take account of the movement in the wholesale price index for products of manufacturing industries, other than food, drink and tobacco.
