§ Mr. Nobleasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will make a statement on progress made in implementing the schemes of assistance to the footwear industry.
§ Mr. CryerThe Department has received 57 applications for assistance under the Footwear Industry Scheme, involving total project costs of £4.8 million. The applications include 13 projects under Part I of the scheme, 34 under Part II and 17 under Part III. To date, 10 applications have been approved, 3 withdrawn and 2 rejected.
