§ 21. Mr. Biffenasked the Secretary of State for Industry what discussions have been held with the textile fibres industry concerning the proposals of the Com- 352W mission for capacity limitation and market sharing throughout the European Community and if he will make a statement.
Mr. Alan WilliamsThe Commission has not so far put any proposals to member States for endorsement of the arrangements agreed by the fibre producers.
There have been discussions about these arrangements in the Man-Made Fibre Production Sector Working Party, which includes representatives of management, unions and Government.
The United Kingdom producers who are parties to the arrangements have also been in discussion with the Department of Industry and the Department of Prices and Consumer Protection.
