§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Prime Minister before implementing the Boyle Committee report on top salaries, if he will take account of the fact that some recipients receive many emoluments, such as free and tax free travel, tax free expenses, houses and food.
§ The Prime MinisterI refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Bradford, North (Mr. Ford) on 4th July. The benefits provided for those covered by the report of the Review Body on Top Salaries is properly a matter for the Review Body itself to consider in assessing the appropriate level of remuneration.
