§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Industry how much money he has allocated, provisionally, for further research into substitutes for sperm whale oil after the completion of the current study by the British Leather Manufacturers' Research Association.
Mr. Alan WilliamsAs I have stated in the past, I will decide whether it is appropriate for my Department to provide further funds for research into sperm oil 267W substitutes when the outcome of the latest study, founded by my Department through the Garment and Allied Industries' Requirements Board, is known. Any extra funds necessary will be allocated at that time.
