§ Mr. John Ellisasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will withdraw the handout issued by his Department on 30th May referring inter alia to his poultry unit exhibited at the Royal Show which drew attention to the savings which could result from the conservation of the heat generated by poultry at a stocking density of eight birds per square metre in the light of the fact that such a stocking density is greater than that recommended by the codes of practice introduced following the Bramble Report.
§ Mr. StrangI accept that the compressed wording of this general Press notice about the Ministry's exhibits at the Royal Show could have been misunderstood in this respect; but nothing in the exhibit itself nor in the related leaflet available at the show could be construed as encouraging non-compliance with the welfare codes.
