§ Mr. McCrindleasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he intends to set up a scheme for decasualisation 79W based on statutory registers of employers and employees, coupled with the provision of fall-back pay for temporarily unemployed workers, to be administered by a statutory Construction Industry Manpower Board.
§ Mr. FreesonI have welcomed the Construction Industry Manpower Board's proposals for a voluntary registration scheme. Much now depends on the degree of support it gets from the industry. But if it fails I shall have to consider alternative action.
