Dickson MabonFigures for crude oil distillation capacity in the United Kingdom are published annually by my Department in the Digest of United Kingdom Energy Statistics (Table 42 of the 1977 Edition). Almost all of this plant is technically capable of refining North Sea crude. The total capacity is substantially in excess of United Kingdom demand for refined oil products.
