HC Deb 30 January 1978 vol 943 c17W
Mr. Hodgson

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what charges his Department makes annually for commercial use of oil storage facilities maintained for home defence purposes; and how such charges are calculated.

Dr. J. Dickson Mahon

The income for the financial year 1977–78 from the commercial use of oil storage facilities is expected to be about £1.7 million. Contracts are negotiated with users, who pay a rental, all operating costs and a proportion of major repair costs associated with maintaining the installations.
