§ 45. Mr. Moonman
asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he will make a statement on the Interim Action Committee on the Film Industry.

§ Mr. Meacher
The Interim Action Committee has presented its first report to my right hon. Friend on the setting up of a British Film Authority, which we are considering. We expect further reports from the committee on the other aspects of its terms of reference.

§ Mr. Moonman
asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he will publish any evidence his Department presented to the Interim Action Committee on the Film Industry.

§ Mr. Meacher
My Department has presented no evidence to the committee.

§ Mr. Moonman
asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he will initiate discussions with the various sections of the film industry on the Interim Action Committee Report.

§ Mr. Meacher
The IAC has already, of course, had discussions with various sections of the film industry on the BFA, but I should be pleased to receive any other views on the setting up of such an authority.
