§ Mr. Denzil DaviesNo. The lifeboat scheme devised by the Bank of England was essentially a means of recycling deposits within the banking system. The English and Scottish clearing banks provided the majority of the recycled deposits and it would be contrary to normal banking confidentiality to reveal the names of those institutions which have received assistance through the scheme.
