§ Mr. Robert Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Industry in which countries members of the Universal Postal Union, including Great Britain, postage stamps issued by the South African Bantustan Transkei are acceptable.
§ Mr. Les HuckfieldFrom my reading of the Universal Postal Convention there seem to be no grounds for regarding such stamps as unacceptable, and so far as I and the Post Office are aware no other State has taken a different view. This in no way alters the Government's policy of non-recognition of the Transkei as an independent sovereign State.
