§ 41. Mr. Georgeasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if, following the recent report by Survival International, "The Forest Indians in Stroessner's Paraguay: Survival or Extinction?", he will raise at the United Nations Human Rights Commission the question of the systematic extermination of the Forest Indians in Paraguay.
§ Mr. RowlandsNo. Our information is that there are cases of abuses. However, our current assessment and that of the Inter-American Human Rights Commission in 1975 does not indicate evidence that systematic extermination or 671W enslavement forms part of the Paraguayan Government's policies.
