§ 59. Mr. John H. Osbornasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will now discuss with the EEC, and Governments of member countries, not only the content but adequate enforcement of EEC directives and regulations on the export of live animals, with a view to ensuring that British cattle farmers are not placed at a disadvantage compared with their competitors in the EEC, and elsewhere.
§ Mr. BishopThe content of these directives was fully discussed at the time they were adopted, and the EEC Commission, in consultation with all member States, exercises general oversight of the way they are implemented. If there is evidence that these measures are not having their intended effect we shall take the appropriate action.
