§ 16. Sir David Rentonasked the Secretary of State for Defence, in the light of the fact that the number of Service voters on the latest electoral register has fallen by 8 per cent. compared with the number of registered voters 12 months previously at the Royal Air Force units at Brampton, Wyton and Upwood, what steps will be taken to ensure that all necessary facilities are provided for their registration.
§ Mr. WellbelovedAs I explained to the right hon. and learned Member when I wrote to him on 5th January, arrangements have been made to ensure that 579W all those members of the Armed Forces and their spouses who are entitled to register as Service voters have had the opportunity to do so. It is not practicable to say how many of those serving with a particular unit have registered as Service voters or in which constituency, but I have no reason to believe that any of those previously registered have been denied this opportunity.
