§ Mr. Canavanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) whether, following the debate on 6th December, he will take steps to clarify what political activities a judge can or cannot indulge in;
(2) whether, following the debate on 6th December, he will make clear to all sheriffs in Scotland that any political remarks or activities, no matter how impartial, will be considered a breach of duty.
