Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) how many men and women were in prison at the latest available date for the offence of simple drunkenness; and where they were located;

(2) if he will list (a) the number of men and (b) the number of women imprisoned for the offence of simple drunkenness in each year since 1971; and what was the average length of sentence of men and women for each year.
