§ Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) whether there has been a significant national or regional increase of cases of drivers failing to stop after accidents involving injury to the person or damage to other vehicles over the period of the last five years;
(2) what proportion of drivers failing to stop after reported accidents involving injury or damage were discovered and prosecuted during each of the last five years.
§ Dr. SummerskillThe total number of offences of failing to stop after an accident is not collected centrally. Figures of the number of these offences which let to court proceedings in England and Wales are published annually in "Offences Relating to Motor Vehicles".
