§ Mr. John SilkinNo. I agree with the Commission that in principle the European unit of account, which is composed of all EEC currencies, would provide a more representative basis than the currencies in the European joint float for the calculation of MCAs, but the balance of advantage for the United Kingdom of such a change would depend on how it was made and how the new system was operated.
