§ Mr. Eyreasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if derelict land clearance grants could be extended to the area of the West Midlands Metropolitan County Council.
§ Mr. MarksGrants for the acquisition and reclamation of derelict land are available to local authorities in the area of the West Midlands County Council at the rate of 50 per cent. of approved expenditure. The specification of any locality as a derelict land clearance area, which would enable a higher rate of grant to be paid, falls to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Industry, who is at present considering the matter.
