§ 36. Mr. Viggersasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he is yet in a position to implement the intentions on Service pay, referred to by the Minister of State for Defence during the debate on Armed Services' pay on Friday 9th December 1977.
§ Mr. MulleyMy hon. Friend told the House on 9th December that the Government intends to restore Service pay to full comparability as soon as pay policy permits. Since the 12-month rule is a key part of that policy, it follows that the next increase will be due on 1st April 1978, the anniversary of the Services' last increase.
