§ Mr. John TomlinsonIn the financial year 1976–77, total expenditure on allowances paid to members of the Diplomatic Service in respect of children attending boarding schools in the United Kingdom was £3,512,229. Estimated expenditure on these allowances for the current financial year is £3,345,000. In both cases, income tax is recovered on allowances paid to staff serving in this country.
