§ Mr. McElhoneUnder the urban programme 79 additional teachers have so far been appointed by Strathclyde Regional Council to schools in Maryhill and the East End of Glasgow and five720W more will be appointed shortly. Under the separate scheme which my right hon. Friend announced last July for the employment of additional teachers in schools serving urban areas of deprivation, the regional council has made 351 appointments and expect to make a further 29 shortly.
